When Aluminum and Copper Aren't Enough

Certain environments destroy standard gutter materials faster than anyone budgets for. Salt air within a few miles of the ocean will pit and corrode aluminum gutters over time. Industrial environments with airborne chemicals or high acid exposure demand a material that resists corrosion at the molecular level. Stainless steel is the answer for those applications — and it's specified by contractors who understand that the right material now is cheaper than the replacement later.

We supply 304 and 316 grade stainless gutter coil factory-direct to contractors nationwide. 316 grade, with its molybdenum addition, is the call for severe marine and industrial environments. 304 handles most other applications where stainless is specified. Both are built to your exact gauge and width.

Where Stainless Gutter Coil Gets Specified

  • Coastal residential and commercial: Properties within direct ocean air exposure where aluminum's corrosion resistance isn't sufficient for the warranty period expected.
  • Industrial facilities: Manufacturing plants, chemical processing, food and beverage facilities where airborne contaminants demand material durability beyond standard metals.
  • High-end architectural projects: Buildings where the aesthetic and durability of stainless is part of the specification — not just a performance requirement.
  • Infrastructure and institutional: Bridges, municipal buildings, and institutional construction with long design lives requiring documented corrosion resistance.

Who We Work With

Built for High-Spec Contractors & Builders

Coastal Contractors
Working ocean-front or near-shore properties? 316 grade stainless is the only gutter coil material that holds up long-term in direct marine exposure.
Industrial & Commercial Builders
Specifying gutters on facilities with chemical or corrosive environments? Stainless is the correct material call and we supply it factory-direct.
Architects & Spec Writers
Writing stainless gutter specs for long-life institutional or commercial buildings? We can provide grade documentation and samples to support your specification.

FAQ

Common Questions

When should I specify 316 over 304 stainless?

304 is the standard choice for most stainless applications. Specify 316 when the installation is in direct marine exposure (ocean spray, salt air within a mile or two of the water), or in environments with chloride-containing chemicals, food processing, or industrial acids. The molybdenum in 316 provides meaningfully better resistance to pitting corrosion in those conditions.

Is stainless gutter coil hard to work with on standard machines?

Stainless is harder and work-hardens faster than aluminum. Most contractors who run stainless do so with dedicated tooling or know their machine's tolerances for the material. We'll discuss your setup on the quote call and make sure the spec we produce is workable for you.

Can you provide grade certifications for spec compliance?

Yes. We provide mill test reports and material certifications confirming grade, chemical composition, and mechanical properties. This is standard for institutional and commercial projects with documented material requirements.

What's the lead time compared to aluminum?

Same: 4–6 weeks from spec sign-off to your yard. Stainless doesn't carry a lead time penalty over aluminum in our production model.
